Hello [firstname],
Happy New Year and welcome to 2009. The holidays are now
behind us and it's time to re-focus on business again.
With so much uncertainty with the economy - and a new United
States President taking office - the next 12 months will
prove very interesting for us.
|
|
|
|
|
Having
lived and worked in the US for 12 years, and still working
with US manufactured products, I keep a keen eye on what's
happening over there and the impact it has on Australia.
The good news is the software business remains steady,
development on Timeslips and other products I work with is
continuing and many businesses stateside and here at home
are still seeing the benefits of implementing a new front or
back office solution. Plus many are upgrading to stay up to
date with modern technology. I believe this will continue as
it's important, particularly now, to keep your finger on the
pulse of what's happening in your business.
With this is mind, I encourage you to look at how
effectively you're utilising Timeslips in your office. The
data you capture in Timeslips is a gold mine for your
business. Take advantage of over 100 built-in reports to
analyse what is happening and help you to make key business
decisions.

Timeslips 2009
Feature Review - Timekeeper Contributions and Collections Report |

This report allows you to summarise information for
timekeepers in your firm.
Use this report to track totals
throughout the billing cycle for each timekeeper such as
work in process, amounts billed, payments received, and
write offs. You can also break down these totals further by
client.
This is a very handy report as it displays information that
you would normally have to run several reports to capture.
Please note that Timeslips cannot break down cost
information for individual timekeepers on invoices generated
prior to Timeslips 2009. Cost information for these invoices
will be included in the "unassigned" row at the bottom of
the report.

Are you
maximising the capabilities of Timeslips in your office? |

Is your firm double handling timesheets because your staff
are not trained on how to enter time directly into
Timeslips?
Double handling of timesheets only leads to mistakes and it's
an expense to the firm to have someone re-key the data.
Consider training your staff to input their own time on a
daily basis and then utilise the Timeslips reports or the
Timeslips dashboard to monitor their billable v non-billable
time daily.
There are many more ways Timeslips can help your firm to be

Quick Tip - Did
you know you can set the Default Tab Order on a Slip? |
|
|
|
|
| |
When you are entering data in Timeslips you can press the Tab key to
move from field to field in most areas. The order in which Timeslips
moves through these fields is called the tab order. Most
applications set the tab order to reflect the order of fields on the
dialog box.
When you enter slips, the Tab key moves the focus through each slip
field. However, you may prefer a customised tab order for the way
that you enter data on slips. You can customise this tab order so
that each time you press the Tab key, Timeslips will highlight slip
fields according to your priorities.
You can use the settings on the Slips page of the Personal
Preferences dialog box to customise the tab order for slip fields.

Policy is to support the current Timeslips release and, in most
