New Release - Revit Architecture Suite 2009.1 Just released is Revit Architecture Suite 2009.1 which now combines AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, and AutoCAD Architecture software into a single, comprehensive package. There are no new features in this release - its purpose is to add AutoCAD Architecture to the bundle. Subscription customers should have received their new boxed product by now. Why move to Revit Architecture Suite 2009.1? Building Information Modelling using Revit Architecture offers a powerful competitive advantage, while speeding creative design work and enhancing coordination of presentations and documentation. Support ongoing work in either AutoCAD, or now in AutoCAD Architecture, while you make the switch to BIM with Revit Architecture, all at your own pace. Revit Architecture 2009.1 Web Update #2 (not for Revit Suite customers) For the first time in the Revit product line history, Autodesk has implemented Service Pack technology similar to the AutoCAD based products. This greatly reduces the effort needed to update the Revit products to the newest build by allowing users to update their existing installations without having to reinstall Revit. Please note Web Update #2 is not a full install; you will need to verify that you have already installed the First Customer Ship build or Web Update #1 build. Click here for Web Update #2. BIM (Building Information Modelling) Clear, concise understanding between architects, engineers, construction professionals, facility managers, and owners is the key to any successful project. If you'd like to read more about BIM click here. AutoCAD Navigation Tool (another free tool from Autodesk Labs) This tool provides back and forward display navigation within AutoCAD. The behaviour is similar to back and forward navigation within your web browser. It basically tracks what you're looking at in AutoCAD. Any time you want to go back to something you were looking at previously, just hit the back button. Similarly, click the forward button to navigate forward again.
